Singer Shakira will turn 46 this year, but she still surprises her fans with her fitness. The artist boasts a toned figure and active dances during her performances.

The star's secret is regular workouts and a strict diet. Anna Kaiser, the celebrity trainer with whom Shakira has been working out for over 13 years, shared her secrets, LifeStyle Asia reports.

Training 6 days a week

Shakira's training program changes every day, Kaiser says. Her sports activities include not only fitness but also dancing. The trainer emphasized the importance of constantly changing exercises in order to maintain not only the body but also the mind.

Shakira works out six days a week with a day off on Sunday. The singer strives to exercise not only to stay in shape but also to avoid injuries and stay healthy.

Cardio or strength

Shakira's workouts are the perfect combination of strength and cardio. "We like to mix it up," Kaiser said in an interview. The star's trainer focuses on "long, low-intensity cardio workouts." It can be walking on a treadmill, jogging, cycling, swimming, etc. The celebrity performs strength exercises with dumbbells, bands, and bodyweight movements.

Diet

Shakira's diet can be called strict but effective. The star's portions are small but rich in nutrients. The singer usually eats in moderation, but when it comes to preparing for big performances, the performer gives up sweets and dairy products.

A celebrity's breakfast usually includes eggs, avocados, and tomatoes. For dessert, she has a cocktail with berries, vegetable protein, and herbs, Kaiser says. For lunch, Shakira eats fish and fresh vegetables or a salad. Soup is an obligatory component of this meal. Dinner also consists of fish and vegetables.
