The perfect dough for homemade dumplings: does not stick to hands and rolls out well
To make homemade dumplings successful, you need to prepare the dough properly. It is important to make sure that the dumplings are soft and juicy. Milk is ideal for the base.
The idea of making the perfect dough for dumplings was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yulia Mikulich (yuliia_mikulich). The recipe is detailed and very simple.
Ingredients:
- water - 125 g
- milk - 100 g
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 50 g
- flour - 400 g
- you can take only water - 225 g
Ingredients for the filling:
- minced meat - 500 g
- salt, spices
- garlic - a couple of cloves, a little onion
Method of preparation:
1. Combine water, milk, salt and butter in a saucepan. Put the pot on the stove and bring the contents to a boil.
2. Sift the flour into a deep bowl and pour the hot liquid into it. First, mix the mixture with a fork (because it is hot), and then with your hands until smooth and homogeneous. If the dough is sticky, add a little more flour.
3. Put the dough in a bag and leave it on the table for 30-40 minutes.
4. Prepare the filling.
5. Combine the minced meat with spices, grated garlic and onion.
6. Roll out part of the dough. Put the rest in a bag. Do not roll out very thinly so that the dumplings do not tear during cooking. The dough should not stick. But if it sticks a little, add flour.
5. Cut out circles of dough with a mold. Put minced meat in the center of the circle and form dumplings. Put the fillings in moderation.
6. Then you can freeze or cook.
