It is not always possible to use frozen cherries that were harvested in the summer during the winter. So if you still have a lot of berries, make a versatile filling out of them. It can be used for a variety of desserts.

Recipe for a universal cherry filling

Ingredients:
- frozen cherries - 300 g
- sugar - 80 g
- corn starch - 30 g
- rum or cognac (for flavoring if desired) - 20 g
Method of preparation:
Put the filling in a saucepan

1. Heat the cherries in a saucepan a little.
Mix sugar with starch

2. Gradually add sugar mixed with starch.

3. Brew until thickened, stirring constantly.
Add alcohol

4. Add rum/cognac and stir.

5. Turn off the fire.
6. Put the filling in a plate, cover with cling film, and cool.
