How to make tomato paste at home: a simple recipe

Tomato paste is an indispensable ingredient for many dishes: cabbage rolls, roasts, borscht, and various sauces. So while the tomato season is almost in full swing, it's worth making this ingredient at home. The paste is perfectly stored in the freezer, it is very easy to make from home-grown tomatoes, and you will be sure of the quality of the product.

An interesting technology for making homemade tomato paste was shared by gardener Natalia (boiarchuk78) on her Instagram page.

1. Squeeze the juice from tomato pulp.

3. Crush tomatoes with an electric grinder with a juice attachment.

4. Put the paste on fire and boil for 20 minutes.

5. Afterwards, while still hot, pour onto a metal sieve with a very fine mesh.

6. Leave it overnight.

7. All the clear liquid will drain off, and the tomato paste will remain.

8. Transfer to a tray, cut into convenient pieces and freeze.
