What is known about Larysa Kovalchuk

According to the Ternopil Regional Methodological Center for Folk Art, Larysa Kovalchuk was born in the Ternopil region in a family of artists, which is probably why she connected her life with art. Since childhood, she sang, learned to play the piano, violin, and later the bandura.

"In 1993, she became a laureate of the All-Ukrainian Bandura Competition. Later, she completed her postgraduate studies at the Kyiv Conservatory and at that time met an Australian Ukrainian, Oleksandr Buriak, and became his wife. The touring activity took them all over Ukraine and even abroad - Germany, France, and Australia - where she often performed with the Chumaky Choir. Most of her concert performances are in Australia," the source explained the reason why the Ukrainian now lives in Australia.

The musician is still actively traveling the world with concerts, broadcasting Ukrainian folk music. She also often comes to her homeland.
