Tonia Matvienko resigned from the Poplavskyi University of Culture

Honored Artist of Ukraine Tonia Matvienko has revealed why she resigned from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, whose president is singer Mykhailo Poplavskyi. The 43-year-old celebrity admitted that it was difficult for her to combine teaching and creative activities, so she decided to focus on her career as a singer.

The star told Slava Demin about this in the new issue of the Muzz_Trend project. She noted that during her short time working with students, she noticed that today's youth have a strong desire to sing.

"I don't teach anymore. I've released three songs in six months, it's been so long. I'm tired. I worked from September to May and deflated like a balloon. I realized that I couldn't do everything, you know, like sitting on two chairs," the artist said.

According to Tonia Matvienko, during the year she taught vocals at the university, she was invited to go abroad with a concert program, but she refused because of her responsibility to her students. In addition, the number of charity performances decreased, which did not satisfy her at all.

"I don't want to do that. As long as I'm invited and I have someone to sing for, I'd rather do it," the star said.

Last year, Tonia Matvienko admitted that after the outbreak of a full-scale war, neither she nor her husband Arsen Mirzoyan could earn enough from their creative activities, as most of their performances were charity events. The celebrity began to look for additional sources of income, so she started teaching at the Poplavskyi University of Culture. The artist frankly noted that the main motivation for her to start working with students was the lack of money.
