The winner of Eurovision 2024 caused a wave of discussion online: why Nemo is criticized and why Ukrainians did not like them

Euro fans reacted to Nemo's victory

Eurofans and jury members were probably satisfied with the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest - Nemo from Switzerland - for the first time in a long time, as the results of the voting by professionals and viewers were quite similar. The artists received the most points from the judges and one of the highest results in the televoting, and the network reacted emotionally to the first place in the ranking.

OBOZ.UA broadcasted the grand final live, where Ukraine also competed and won the bronze medal. Immediately after the results were announced, Euro fans rushed to share their reactions on social media.

The video of Nemo's performance started gaining views instantly as soon as it was posted on the official Eurovision channel. An hour after it was posted, the mark exceeded 600 thousand views and almost 10 thousand comments. It should be said that not all of them were good.

The most popular messages read: "I can't believe this song is about to win," "If you have a good song at Eurovision, you lose 100%," "It's just impossible that 90% of the jury thinks Switzerland deserves 12 points." However, most of the comments were positive.

The official Eurovision account on Instagram is still dominated by congratulations to the winner. A lot of attention was paid to the fact that Nemo did not bring their flag on stage, but focused on the freedom of gender self-identification.

As for Ukrainians, the opinions of users are divided. Some are sincerely happy for the talented singers, while others humiliate Nemo for his costume, orientation, and performance in general. Under the OBOZ.UA post, you can find very different reactions.

"A decent performance, a talented artist. Bravo," "Sincere congratulations to Nemo on his victory," "Horrors," "The jury fell for the skirt," "Switzerland won with dignity," Ukrainians wrote.
