22-year-old Thanh Thuy, the representative of Vietnam at Miss International 2024, won the crown for the first time in the history of her country in the final of the international beauty pageant held in Tokyo on November 12. She beat 70 other contestants from different countries.

The winner inherited the award from last year's winner Andrea Rubio from Venezuela. The top 5 also included contestants from Bolivia, Spain, Venezuela, and Indonesia. "I am the first Miss Vietnam to come to Miss International. And now I am the first Miss International from Vietnam. Finally, I can prove that I deserve the love and support of my audience and fans from Vietnam and around the world. Thank you so much!" the beauty queen said in her speech.

Thanh Thuy was born on July 1, 2002 in Da Nang. She won the second place in the national literature competition at the qualifying exam for the best students of Da Nang for the 2019-2020 academic year. She is currently studying English at the University of Foreign Languages. At the same time, she is also studying at the University of Greenwich, which is located in London.

The model was crowned Miss Vietnam in December 2022. During the competition, she was in the top 5 of the Fast Track Beauty with a Purpose and Multimedia and won the Sport award. It was later announced that Thuy would represent the country at Miss International 2024. Despite the controversy over Thanh's participation in the pageant, in which Vietnam has never participated, the beauty still went to Tokyo.
