Jenna Fischer, the star of The Office series and American actress, announced that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. According to the celebrity, she was undergoing a routine checkup when an ultrasound scan showed abnormalities.

The day before, the 50-year-old actress posted a post on Instagram in which she shared news about her health in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Last year, Jenna shared a joke photo taken before a routine mammogram.

"After inconclusive results due to dense breast tissue, my doctor ordered a breast ultrasound," she said, "They found something in my left breast. They ordered a biopsy. Then, on December 1, 2023, I found out that I had triple positive stage 1 breast cancer."

Fisher said that in January she underwent a lumpectomy to remove the tumor, which, fortunately, was detected at an early stage and had not spread. However, due to the "aggressive nature" of the cancer, the actress needed chemotherapy and radiation. The "Office" star underwent 12 courses of chemotherapy starting in February and three weeks of radiation starting in June. Since then, she has been treated with infusions of two other drugs.

"I'm happy to say I feel great," she continued, "I lost my hair during chemotherapy, but thanks to some great wigs and hats with hair, I was able to wait until now to talk about everything that happened to me. Fisher urged her fans not to forget about body examinations, including annual mammograms.

"If I had waited another six months, it could have been much worse," says Jenna. - "It could have spread. After seeing women posting photos of their mammograms on Instagram, I decided to go for my own (which I was late for). I'm so glad I did. Consider this your kick in the butt to do it.... Suddenly everything in your life is centered on one thing: fighting cancer."
