Sign language interpreter Olha Bunaziv, who translated the conversations between the hosts, participants and jury during the National Selection 2024, stood up for her colleague Kateryna Subotkina. She was also responsible for the song component of the broadcast and, despite the emotional translation of the songs, was criticized online.

As it turned out, they translated 11 songs of the finalists on their own, not expecting to be invited to the National Selection. The organizers of the competition unexpectedly contacted them, Bunaziv said in an interview with the Molodyi Bukovynets.

"The atmosphere at the backstage was so magical for me!" the translator admitted. She shared a dressing room with Jerry Heil and Masha Efrosinina, which impressed her greatly as she had only seen them on screen before.

The translator also commented on the criticism of Kateryna Zabotkina. Bunaziv explained that translating songs is a very hard job and the main goal of the translator is to convey the meaning of the track. "There are a lot of dialectisms, calculated sign language, and English words. In addition, the songs are very fast," she added, praising her colleague who "did her best."
