Artem Kotenko, Ukraine's representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which will soon take place in Madrid, has announced a change in the title of the contest song. Previously, the song was called "Dim", "home" in Ukrainian.

According to the young singer on his Instagram page, the team aimed to convey the message to the European audience by changing the name. Now the song, which tells about the loss of their own home at the hands of the occupiers, will be called "Hear Me Now." The performer noted that the problem highlighted in his competition track "is an urgent issue for many countries and children."

Kotenko also presented an a cappella version of the song. The artist sang the lines of "Hear Me Now" without musical accompaniment, demonstrating the power of his voice.

Full lyrics of "Hear Me Now":

Hear me now, hear me now

There is no better place than home

Hear me now, hear me now

You'll never be alone

Hear me now

Tell me if you're dreaming colored dreams

Tell me what's on your mind

I've been waiting to tell the world

I'm ready to fight for you as long as I hear mine

Beat, beat, beat, beat, beat, beat

Beat, beat, beat, beat, beat, beat

Rainin' down from the sky, rainin' down from the sky, rainin' down from the sky

Beat, beat, beat, beat, beat, beat

Beat, beat, beat, beat, beat, beat

Sometimes we break to pieces

Sometimes we break down

Hear me now, hear me now

There is no better place than home

Hear me now, hear me now

You'll never be alone

Hear me now, hear me now

There is no better place than home

Hear me now, hear me now

You'll never be alone

Hear me now, hear me now

Hear me now

Home is where you spread your wings

Where your dreams grow in faith

Home is where you can be yourself

Whoever you want to be, your family will be with you

Home is where I believe the light will come through

Your voice will be heard, the music of your heart

Home - where you are never alone

Home, where freedom always breathes

Where freedom breathes, where freedom breathes

Hear me now

We would like to remind you that Artem Kotenko's song is written in Ukrainian and English. The vocalist, who was born in Okhtyrka, Sumy Oblast, and has not left the frontline city despite the war, sings about how Russian barbarians are taking away Ukrainians' homes.

Junior Eurovision 2024 will take place on November 16 in the heart of Spain - Madrid. Representatives from 17 European countries will compete for the victory. Although not all the contestants have presented their songs yet, fans have already chosen their favorites. In particular, fans of the song contest highly appreciate the chances of 12-year-old Kotenko.

This year's identity of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is watercolor flowers in a purple and orange palette. The organizers will unite young talents under the slogan "Let's Bloom". However, there was a scandal. Herman Nenov, the creative director of the National Selection in 2023 and the director of the performance of the then representative of Ukraine Anastasia Dymyd, suggested that the design was plagiarized from the Ukrainian's performance last year.
