The royal family touchingly congratulated Prince William on his birthday and showed him as a child

Prince William was congratulated on his birthday

The British royal family congratulated Crown Prince William on his 42nd birthday with a photo from the archive. In it, the current King of Great Britain, Charles III, holds his first son, born to him by his ex-wife, the late Princess Diana.

The image was posted on the Instagram account of Buckingham Palace. The touching photo can be found in the royal gallery.

"Wishing Prince William a very happy birthday," the festive caption reads.

The black-and-white footage documents the king holding his firstborn son in his arms, dressed in white, smiling happily at the baby, who is not yet a year old.

Little Prince William looked cheerfully to the side, opening his toothless mouth. The photo was taken in London on February 1, 1983, at Kensington Palace. It is noteworthy that Princess Diana also took part in the photo shoot.

However, only the king was chosen for the greeting. Many color photos were taken that day, showing the happy family long before the dukes' divorce.

As a reminder, Princess Diana gave birth to the heir to the royal throne on June 21, 1982, and the baby was baptized on August 4. On the same day, Prince William's great-grandmother and Elizabeth II's mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, celebrated her 82nd birthday.
