This was stated by the legendary musician's ex-husband John Reynolds, who registered the relevant data in London's Lambeth, the New York Post reports. The celebrity died at the age of 56.

According to the information on Sinead O'Connor's death certificate, she passed away due to "exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchial asthma along with a low-grade lower respiratory tract infection."

On the day of the tragedy, Sinead O'Connor was found lifeless in her apartment. Police officials who were investigating the cause of the Irish composer's death said that she died "of natural causes." Despite this, the star's family has not yet disclosed any details of her death to the audience.

Before the official information came out, several foreign media outlets believed that the cause of the tragedy was the cancer that the artist had been fighting for a long time.
