The new portrait of Kate Middleton on the cover of the magazine has confused fans of the royal family. Photo

Kate Middleton's portrait disappointed netizens

The portrait of Princess Kate Middleton of Wales on the cover of Tatler magazine confused fans of the royal family. They expressed the opinion that the picture does not look like the original photo from which it was taken.

According to the Mirror, the Duchess was chosen for the cover to honor her "strength and courage." British-Zambian artist Hannah Uzor took the liberty of portraying the princess.

She was inspired by Kate Middleton's video message, in which the wife of Prince William spoke about her fight against cancer. However, the portrait was based on a shot taken two years earlier during the Windsors' state visit to South Africa.

On that day, the princess wore a floor-length white Jenny Packham evening dress with a cape and sparkling details on the shoulders and posed with her favorite tiara. The look was completed with a blue ribbon.

Users recognized the princess by these characteristic features, but they had questions about other parts of the portrait. The comments emphasized that the artist was unable to reproduce Kate Middleton's features in the picture, and the overall picture turned out to be rather gloomy.

According to the artist, Kate on the cover of the magazine, surrounded by a green and blue background, is a reference to the color of the princess's eyes, as well as her favorite pastime - rowing.

"She really lives up to her role - she was born for it. She carries herself with such dignity, elegance and grace," said Hanna Uzor.
