The most shocking Eurovision participants in the 21st century: from Verka Serdyuchka to Lordi and Måneskin. Videos of performances that will not leave anyone indifferent

The Eurovision Song Contest often features very outrageous singers

Eurovision, the world's biggest song contest, attracts viewers from all over the world with its outrageous participants, viral tunes, incendiary dances, and intriguing competition process. Some performances are doomed to success, while others are forgotten immediately after the show.

Interestingly, the songs of the winners are not always the most popular. OBOZ.UA will tell you about the brightest performances of the XXI century that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Verka Serdyuchka

Verka Serdyuchka with her song "Dancing Lasha Tumbai" took second place at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. Her performance with outrageous costumes and incendiary choreography became a real sensation.

The song has lyrics that some people perceive as "I want you to see - Russia goodbye". Because of this, Serdyuchka once quarreled with the Russian musical elite, and in 2022 she specifically changed the lyrics to these words.

Lordi

The first ever victory for Finland almost 20 years ago was won by the rock band Lordi with the song "Hallelujah". In addition to the soloist's powerful voice, the audience was impressed by the band's bizarre costumes, and their performance became truly legendary. The stars didn't spend a lot of energy on staging the number, but simply created such makeup and images for the musicians that you can't get out of your head.

Måneskin

The Italian band Måneskin was popular in their home country, but their victory in 2021 made them superstars. The hit song "Zitti E Buoni" was included in the list of tracks that cannot be forgotten. The rebels burst onto the scene with style and wrote their names in history, and all their subsequent projects were mega-successful.

Netta

Netta's performance at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest from Israel was undoubtedly one of the most memorable in the history of the contest. Her song "Toy" and an outrageous performance with many bright elements won the hearts of the audience and brought Israel victory.

Conchita Wurst

Conchita Wurst, a bearded man in an evening gown, turned the game upside down in 2014. All he needed was a sparkling outfit and a black beard to burn himself into the memories of hundreds of thousands of people and win. After that year's competition, the show saw many more participants who stopped being ashamed of their orientation, outrageousness, and dividing clothes into men's and women's.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA told about what the stage of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in the Malmö Arena this year, looks like. As previously reported, viewers will be able to see moving LED cubes and a cross-shaped platform that creates a unique 360-degree view.
