The first ever X-Factor winner was forced to cancel his concert after selling only 27 tickets

The first-ever X-Factor winner Steve Brookstein was forced to cancel one of his concerts in Verwood, Dorset, England. It was because only 27 tickets out of 300 were sold.

The performer's secretary said that the artist was allegedly sick, but 6 days later the singer appeared on the stage in another city. This was reported by Metro.

Steve Brookstein won the song contest 20 years ago in 2004. The contestant joined the team of producer Simon Cowell. At that time, 10 million viewers watched the finalist's victory. The main prize was a contract worth UAH 47 million.

Bruckstein is now 55 years old and continues his career, but his popularity is not what it used to be. The cancellation of the performance 10 days before the concert and 27 sold tickets are proof of this.

Later, the singer shared a photo of an empty stage on social network X, where his name was projected in large print on the screen behind the drum kit. "You win something. You lose something. But you should never give up," he wrote.

Back in 2004, Simon Cowell called Brookstein the next Robbie Williams, and Steve reached the top of the music charts shortly after winning. However, his song didn't last long, as eight months after the X-Factor final, the singer was dropped from his record label Sony BMG and fell out with his mentor.

Brookstein currently has a controversial reputation for his harsh remarks, particularly when it comes to LGBT people. In addition, Steve recently accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi of making anti-Semitic remarks, saying that the politician has "Jewish privilege."
