Ingrid Andress, a well-known US country singer, and four-time Grammy nominee, sang the American national anthem in front of an entire stadium in a state of alcohol intoxication. Her strange behavior stirred up social media, which led the artist to admit to her condition at the time and note that she had already sought medical help.

On July 15, Endress performed the US national anthem at the Globe Life Field stadium in Texas during a baseball game. Both her voice and her movements during the performance showed anxiety. She admitted to her hangover on social network X and apologized to sports fans and fellow citizens.

"I'm not going to lie, I was drunk last night. Today I'm going to the hospital to get the help I need. It wasn't me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country that I love so much for this statement. I will let you all know how the rehab goes, I hear it is very exciting," she wrote.

According to People, a few hours before her "worst singing of America's national anthem," Andress sent an email to her fans announcing the upcoming song and explaining what she had to go through in her life to get to where she is today.

"I had to part ways with some people who helped me make a name for myself. That sent me into what they call 'depression' in my country, America, but I'm not a doctor. I was at the lowest point I've ever been, so I decided to move back to where I grew up, Colorado. Sometimes it's enough to spend a few hours in your hometown to remember who you really are, and you start to be proud of who you've become. I hope that everyone has their own Colorado to return to when they feel lost," the artist wrote, which may indicate mental trauma, which is why she drank alcohol before performing the country's national anthem.
