Taras Topolia, the leader of the band Antytila, explained what was behind the announcement of the band's concert in Russia-occupied Yalta in Crimea on August 23, 2024. The artist emphasized that this is a clear political position of the stars regarding the return of the peninsula.

This decision was a gesture of support for Ukrainians, not a promise to de-occupy Yalta on specific dates. Taras Topolia spoke about this in an interview with TSN for the project "Alone".

The singer assured that Antytila's concert in Crimea will take place, even if it has to be postponed.

"Crimea will be Ukrainian. We are sure of that. The announcement of this concert is a message to that audience, perhaps, first and foremost. It is an articulation of the position of the Antytila band and a large part of Ukrainian society, which is forced to turn up its nose and give up because of certain difficulties, fatigue and exhaustion during these two years of war," explained Taras Topolia.

The singer called the announcement of the performance in Yalta "symbolic". According to him, the public intention to hold a concert in Crimea only emphasizes Ukraine's desire to fight for the liberation of its lands.

"We will fight and do everything in our place, including Antytila, to ensure that the Ukrainian flag flies there and Ukrainian artists sing there. If someone doesn't like it, if someone wants to plunge into the pain of suffering, hopelessness and total confusion, it's their business. If you think super rationally, Kyiv should have fallen in a week. It didn't happen," added the Antytila frontman.

He suggested that faith, light, struggle, and inner strength "do more than rationality and calculation."

"This is magic. What has happened to Ukraine, what we are standing for, is the magic of millions of people uniting for one goal in one place at one time," summarized Taras Topolia.

He urged not to lose hope, because every day the situation can change dramatically, and who knows, maybe Ukrainians will see the national flag in Crimea very soon.
