Spaniard's extensive collection of cell phones breaks 2023 Guinness Book record. Photo and video
Spaniard Vance Palau Fernandez became the owner of the largest collection of mobile phones, entering Guinness Book of Records. His exposition includes 3,615 unique gadget models of various brands, but the Barcelona resident likes Nokia products the most.
The previous record was set in 2023 by a man from Romania who collected 3456 phones. This was reported on the Guinness World Records website.
Vance received his first phone in 1999 for Christmas. It was a gray Nokia 3210 model. The Spaniard liked the gadget so much that he used only Finnish-made devices for many years.
In 2008, a man decided to collect all commercially available Nokia phones. By 2018, he already had 700 different models in his collection, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to find new ones.
Eventually, Vance decided to dilute his collection, which already occupied an entire shelf, with phones from other manufacturers. Today, this list includes products from Siemens, NEC, Motorola, Blackberry, Samsung, HTC, Apple, and other brands.
He continues to look for particularly rare Nokia variants. For example, he owns a collection of Nokia 3220 Star Wars Ep III. The phones with Yoda, Starfighter, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Stormtrooper, and Padawan are the Spaniard's pride.
"The collection is still incomplete, but I keep adding more phones, as many as I can. It is not an easy task to collect all the phones that Nokia has produced," said the record holder, who now has a whole room for his phones.
