Say "palianytsia": the network recalled the 2000s video, in which Verka Serdyuchka made fun of the Putinist Buynov

A funny video with Serdyuchka found online

The network recalled a funny scene when Ukrainian artist Andrii Danylko, in the role of Verka Serdyuchka, mocked Russian singer Alexander Buynov. This happened long before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, around the 00s.

The stars were filming for a show on the M2 music channel. In one of the episodes, Danylko asked his interlocutor to repeat a line with the word palianytsia in Ukrainian. The old video appeared on Instagram.

No matter how hard he tried, Buynov could not pronounce even the first part of the word correctly. He had to ask Serdyuchka again, "Polia or palia?".

For his part, the Ukrainian was not confused and explained to the artist that he needed a good pronunciation and repeated it syllabically, "Pa-lia-ny-tsia".

He still could not repeat the "difficult" word to the laughter of the audience. Ukrainians joked in the comments that Danylko was already making fun of the Russians back then. The audience also shared their stories from the distant past.

"In general, for a singer with a musical ear, repeating "palianytsia" is not a problem. But this one is not a singer", "My girls and I made a kid from Moscow say '"palianytsia" in Khmelnytskyi. It's impossible for Russian morons", "My grandmother told me about it as a child", "The story of the palianytsia is more than 100 years old", "They have the tongue to praise Fuhrer Putin only," the messages read.

Buynov is a member of the Russian ruling United Russia party. In May 2017, he visited the occupied Donetsk for a concert dedicated to the so-called "Republic Day". The Putinist performed a song about pilots and said that he "closed Ukraine for himself for many years until the government changes".

The very next day, Buynov was placed on Myrotvorets website. And in March 2018, the Russian was banned from entering Ukraine, having been included in the list of persons who pose a threat to national security.
