In his new documentary Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, the Prince of Wales mentioned his younger brother, recalling a childhood story when he and his mother, Princess Diana, visited The Passage, a charity organization that helps the homeless.

That was the first time they learned about the problem of homelessness, and Lady Di tried to teach her sons to be tolerant of such people from an early age. At the time, Prince William was almost 11 years old and Harry was 8.

"My mother took me to the Passage, she took Harry and I both there... I'd never been to anything like that before and I was a bit anxious as to what to expect," the prince said about his first such "trip."

He recalled that what he saw in the organization did not match his expectations. Prince William believed that all homeless people are sad because they do not have their own homes, but the reality was quite different.

When you’re quite small … you just think life is what you see in front of you. You don’t really have concept to look elsewhere," the Prince of Wales admitted.
