Prince Harry suffered "three royal humiliations" in just a few weeks: what happened

Prince Harry suffered "three royal humiliations" in just a few weeks

Over the past few weeks, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has been losing his importance to the British royal family. After his move in 2020 with his wife Meghan Markle to America, where they now live with their children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibeth, 2, and the subsequent publication of his controversial autobiography, The Spare, he has visited his family less and less and is now almost considered a prince in exile.

He is often forgotten about when it comes to the royal family, and this has come to be seen as a humiliation, of which there have been three since the beginning of May. Although it was previously known that these situations occurred at the Duke's request, the Mirror writes that royal expert Emily Andrews suggests that the reason is his relatives who are trying to avoid him.

1. Unable to meet his father during a trip to the UK

In early May, Prince Harry returned to his homeland for the first time since February, but not to meet with King Charles III, who is ill with cancer. It is reported that the ruler could not free up his schedule to meet with his youngest son, who moved to the United States and abdicated his royal duties. The prince's visit is connected to the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.

They were both in London, but their paths never crossed. Later, royal experts speculated that King Charles III had invited Prince Harry to stay at the royal residence during his visit, but he declined the offer due to "concerns about security guarantees."

2. Not invited to the Trooping the Color parade

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not present at the long-awaited Trooping the Color parade, where Kate Middleton, who had disappeared from the public for six months due to cancer treatment, appeared. However, it seems that they were not expected, because all the attention was focused on the Princess of Wales.

At the time, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, decided to draw attention to herself a few hours before the parade. She sent her friends to jam from her craft factory. Probably, she wanted to show that she and her younger son Charles III, Prince Harry, were not invited to the year's celebration, so she launched a PR campaign for her new product brand American Riviera Orchard shortly before the important date in the UK.

3. Refusal to attend the "wedding of the year"

Prince Harry declined the invitation to the wedding of his old friend, the Duke of Westminster Hugh Grovenor, and his fiancée Olivia Hanson, which took place on June 7 in London. It is known that he spoke with the groom and they concluded that it would be better to avoid the media spotlight and possible conflicts.

Since the celebration will take place in the UK, Harry would have to fly home from the US. He is deliberately avoiding this after the palace refused to fund his security and evicted the prince from Frogmore Cottage, which the late Queen gave him after the wedding in 2018.

"For Prince Harry, it's been humiliation after humiliation. He broke so many bonds of trust with so many people that it's hard to see him ever again at a secular wedding or Trooping the Color," explained expert Emily Andrews.
