"My heart is bleeding": Jennifer Garner loses friend to LA wildfires
Ben Affleck's ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner, lost her friend during the wildfires in the western United States. The woman lived in the Palisades neighborhood, which was hit hardest. According to the actress, her close friend did not have time to escape and died in her own home.
Many of her friends lost their homes in Los Angeles. As Garner told Page Six, more than 100 friends have lost their homes.
"I lost a friend. She didn't have time to escape. My heart is bleeding for my friends. I mean, I can think of 100 families, and 5000 homes lost. I can - without even thinking - just write a list of 100 friends who lost their homes," the 52-year-old actress said in despair.
Jennifer Garner's house is located in the same neighborhood, and her best friend, whose name she does not mention, lived down the street from her. The actress recalls how lively the children in the neighborhood were, constantly leaving their homes and having fun together. But now these memories are in the past for the actress.
Interestingly, Garner's house was hardly damaged. This makes her feel guilty. "Do you know what I can do? How can I help? What can I offer? What can I offer with these hands, these walls, and the security that I have?" she asked a rhetorical question.
The actress now lives in a country house she built after her divorce from Ben Affleck in 2018. However, it is located in the mountains near Los Angeles, so it is also under the threat of fires.
