"Melovin and Ziferblat are the best!" The results of the National Selection 2024, despite the record points of the winners, divided Ukrainians
According to the results of the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden, Ukraine will be represented by the duo Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil with the song "Teresa & Maria". The singers received 21 points from the judges and the audience, taking first place in the ranking.
It is known that more than 720 thousand Ukrainians voted for alyona alyona & Jerry Heil. However, after the results were announced, the opinions of Euro fans were divided. Fans of the National Selection were especially surprised by the scores for Melovin and Ziferblat, who had high hopes for them.
Some rejoiced at the artists' victory, calling the song a masterpiece. Netizens wished alyona alyona and Jerry Heil good luck and success, noting that the song is imbued with a deep meaning:
"I am very happy for you girls. I wish you victory."
"When Go A were leaving, everyone f*cked them too. Well, girls, this is a good sign, good luck! You have time to prepare, and the Europeans have already loved the song."
"Congratulations, girls!!! I love your masterpieces! I wish you success!"
"The moment when you immediately feel the winning song! Hooray!"
"Well done, girls, this song is now more relevant to society."
However, there were fans of the National Selection who disagreed with the results: some referred to the duo's PR campaign, while others wondered how alyona alyona and Jerry Heil would explain to Europe what Mother Teresa had to do with it.
Dissatisfied Eurofans also drew attention to the performance of the song, as the live performance was extremely different from the studio recording:
"The national selection rules should prohibit submitting and rotating studio versions of songs. Such a big difference in live performance is a shame."
"It was clear from the very beginning, because no one was promoted, only these two. Why have a competition if they had already decided who would go?"
"Advertising and the number of subscribers were the deciding factors. The song is good, but the live performance was a failure."
"Ukraine will be represented on the world stage by people who can't sing live, record duets with their neighbors, have no idea who Mother Teresa is, and can't even explain what their song is about and what God has to do with it."
Commentators also praised other contestants. This year's favorites, in addition to the winners, were the singer Melovin and the band Ziferblat:
"Ziferblat are cool, stylish, professional, they deserve to win!"
"Ziferblat and Melovin, you are the best."
"I hope that next year 'Tsyferblat' will win the Eurovision Song Contest, not just the qualifier!"
"Tsyferblat" is going to be world famous and famous! Go, guys! Let's go!"
"Melovin is the best!"
"Melovin and Dial did a great job with the live performance."
