Malaysia's beauty queen, Viru Nikah Terinsip, was stripped of her title after a video of her "wild dancing" with half-naked men in Thailand went viral. The public reacted negatively to the beauty contest winner's merriment, so the organizing committee decided to take appropriate action.

In 2023, the 24-year-old beauty won the regional Unduk Ngadau (Girl Crowned by the Sun) contest. Since then, her life has been monitored more closely, and one reckless post caused a violent reaction online. According to The Star, despite her public apology, her behavior was called "unacceptable for a beauty queen."

The president of the Kadazandusun Community Cultural Association emphasized that the winner of the prestigious title "should embody the spirit of Huminodun, a mythological maiden with beauty of heart, mind and soul."

"This would not be a problem if she were an ordinary person, but she is an Unduk Ngadau (beauty queen) and a public figure. The reaction was mixed: some saw the humor in her video, some sympathized, some were unhappy and complained. We don't want to be a target and attract unnecessary attention. We hope that she will understand this decision. Let this serve as a warning to all Unduk Ngadau so that they do not repeat this mistake," the commentary reads.

The video showed Viru dancing with men while on vacation in Thailand. She posted the video herself, then deleted it and apologized for it. The former beauty queen said she regretted the post but asked haters not to terrorize her family and friends.

"It's up to you whether you accept (my explanation - Ed.) or not, but it's sincere from my heart. Thank you for listening," she said.
