Kateryna Mazurenko (Katia Rybalka), a Ukrainian blogger and participant of the 13th season of the MasterChef project, honestly answered at what point in her life she decided to renounce the Russian language. According to the TV star, a full-scale war helped her decide to make drastic changes, but she still has an "unpopular" opinion on the language issue.

The Ukrainian said this in an interview with Bohdan Bespalov for the OBOZ.LIFE YouTube channel. Katia Rybalka believes that forced Ukrainization will not benefit the people.

"I visited my relatives in western Ukraine. It was only there that it somehow came to me. I have a standard situation, which is that because of the pain and everything that is happening, I am disgusted," the blogger explained.

She admitted that she used to consume Russian content, but now she feels guilty and cannot listen to Russian music in good conscience. As for the transition of society to the state language, Kateryna herself has an "unpopular" opinion.

"I believe that we should break away from people, leave them alone. If people want to speak Russian in their lives, if they can't, leave them alone. Let us have a Ukrainian official state language: service sector, documentation, signs around the city, media space, television, YouTube, music, I agree. It will gradually take over anyway. But forcing people to do so will trigger them more," explained Bespalova's interlocutor.

Kateryna suggested that it is precisely such offended Russian-speaking Ukrainians who are being parasitized by Russian propaganda about "oppression." She also admitted that she does not condemn her fellow citizens who speak Russian.

"If a resident of Lviv comes to Kharkiv and speaks Ukrainian, he will not be punished for it. Everything will be fine, he will be accepted. If a Kharkiv resident goes to Lviv and speaks Russian there, he is attacked. There is such a dissonance here," Rybalka said.

She summarized that it would be "cool" if the scandals around the language issue disappeared, and "the enemy would have nothing to cling to."
