Ukraine's representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024, Artem Kotenko, has already arrived in Madrid, the capital of Spain, where this year's song contest will take place, and held his first rehearsal. He will perform in front of thousands of spectators in the concert hall and on the screens on November 16.

The concept of his performance was slightly changed. The teenager took off the navy blue suit he wore at the National Selection and appeared on stage in a white outfit and a sequined sweater. The stagers made his appearance much lighter than the one in Ukraine. Photos from the rehearsal were posted on Telegram.

The number of backup dancers has not changed - there are four of them, just like at the National Selection. The main attribute of the team is still white frames with backlighting, which supposedly symbolize the walls of a house.

Before his first appearance on the big stage in Madrid, Artem Kotenko showed us how he was preparing for the rehearsal. He was stretching his vocal cords in his hotel room.

It is worth noting that Artem Kotenko will be performing the song Hear me now, which was previously titled "Home". This change was made because the Ukrainian organizers want to convey the track's message to European audiences. The song tells about the loss of one's own home at the hands of the occupiers.

As a reminder, Artem Kotenko's composition is written in Ukrainian and English. The vocalist, who was born in Okhtyrka, Sumy region, and has not left the frontline city despite the war, sings about how Russian barbarians are taking away Ukrainians' homes.

Junior Eurovision 2024 will take place in 6 days - on November 16 in Madrid. Representatives from 17 European countries will compete for the victory.

This year's identity of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is watercolor flowers in a purple and orange palette. The organizers will unite young talents under the slogan "Let's Bloom". However, there was a scandal. Herman Nenov, the creative director of the National Selection in 2023 and the director of Anastasia Dymyd's performance, suggested that the design was plagiarized from the Ukrainian's performance last year.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote about the ranking of the participants of Junior Eurovision 2024 a week before the final. Young talents from different parts of Europe will demonstrate their voice power, and one of them will become the main winner of the show.
