Joost Klein, the representative of the Netherlands at Eurovision 2024, made his first public appearance after being disqualified from the contest. The Dutch rapper performed at the Freshtival music festival in Enschede.

This was reported by the local edition of AD. Fans expected the artist to comment on the Eurovision scandal. Klein took the stage to perform his entry track "Europapa", introducing himself as an "international artist".

"Now I'm an international artist, I'm doing my best. I know you're waiting for me to make some comment [on the disqualification], but I'll just say that I love you," he told the audience. Just a few minutes after the performance, Klein also announced that he was "about to post an important message on Instagram."

"Love always wins", appeared on the artist's page. Currently, Klein's song "Europapa" is the most popular among all the songs in this year's song contest, according to the Eurovision Song Contest.

As a reminder, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) criticized the Dutch public broadcaster Avrotros' version of events regarding the disqualification of the Dutch participant. Avrotros stated that the incident was allegedly caused by a "threatening movement" towards a woman, but the rapper did not touch her. However, the EBU protests, and witnesses say that there was a quarrel between them, which resulted in property damage.
