Jolie and Pitt offered staggering sum for on-screen reunion: producer reveals fee
The ex-spouses of actress Angelina Jolie and star Brad Pitt, whose divorce has become one of the most high-profile in Hollywood, have been invited to star in a movie. Producer Danny Rossner offers the celebrities a check of $60 million (almost 2.5 billion hryvnias) for their reunion on screen.
However, the ex-husband and wife, who have been fighting for custody of their children, money, and the future of their wine business for eight years, will have a hard time accepting the offer, Page Six reports. Another proof of the split was an incident at the Venice Film Festival: the organizers had to schedule screenings of the films starring the actors on different days so that Jolie and Pitt would not meet on the red carpet.
Rossner, whose films over the past ten years have been more like amateur efforts, describes the project in which Angelina and Brad are to play the lead roles as a passionate movie. It's a love story set in the Hotel Martinez in Cannes, France, during World War II, based on the real life of its owner. Pitt is to play Emmanuel Martinez, the hotel's owner at the time, and Jolie is to play his seductive mistress and muse, Emma Digard.
"We have a love scene... And it's also hot. It's not obscene, but there are very heavy love scenes. Martinez had a wife, and he had a mistress," explains the author of the idea. He also did not agree on an equal distribution of royalties for the exes, which will probably be a key point for Angelina if the project somehow miraculously reaches the negotiating table. Rossner will offer $37.5 million for Pitt and only $22 million for Jolie.
