The Ukrainian Eurovision 2024 star Jerry Heil, who is almost daily talked about abroad, showed herself at the beginning of her music career 10 years ago, when she was not yet writing original songs. At that time, the little-known Yana Shamayeva from Vasylkiv near Kyiv was just covering world-famous hits.

Even then, the girl was fascinated by the a cappella melodies she made on her own. Although several old videos from that time can be found on her YouTube, Jerry Heil shared her exclusive videos on Telegram.

The star explained that nowadays it is almost impossible to find them on a streaming platform. Once upon a time, they had to hide certain videos because of the high risk that YouTube would remove not only certain videos but the entire channel due to copyright infringement.

"Of the covers that you won't see on my channel, because I had to close the channel to avoid being deleted. By the way, the channel was deleted then. There were more than 100 videos at that time. Later I restored the channel, but the videos remained in a closed YouTube closet," the singer said.

In particular, she showed her very first cover of the song Somewhere Only We Know by Keane.

"The first video is my first cover on the channel. The following ones are among the first. You can see how my appearance, style of dress, and knowledge of English have changed. It's been ten years, damn it!" the artist added.

Over the past 10 years, Jerry Heil has become one of the most recognizable Ukrainian artists under 30 who are known in Europe. After the singer, together with alyona alyona, took 3rd place in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, she began to be listened to abroad.

This was also facilitated by her participation in the Cannes Film Festival almost immediately after the song contest. There she was present along with other Ukrainians who have a significant impact on the development of culture.
