"It was a serious mistake, I love Ukraine": singer LP apologizes to Ukrainians for hoodies with the Russian flag

The famous American singer Laura Pergolizzi, aka LP, apologized to Ukrainians after she posted a video of herself wearing a hoodie with a Russian flag, which was given to her by fans from the terrorist country. The star assured that she wholeheartedly supports and loves Ukraine, and that her action was a big mistake that she deeply regrets.

LP posted the video on its InstaStories. She mentioned the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion, calling for support for Ukraine as strongly as ever before.

"Hi everyone, I want to apologize to my friends and fans in Ukraine who were rightly offended and hurt by my rash post where I thanked some Russian fans for a hoodie they made me with my logo and Russian flag on it. I deeply regret being so indifferent at that time. It was a big mistake. I am very sorry. I want you to know that I love and support Ukraine and will always do so," Pergolizzi said.

The artist left a blue and yellow flag emoji on the video.

"Now that it is two years since the full-scale invasion, Ukraine needs support more than ever. My message is and always will be the love and support of the Ukrainian people. Please accept my humble apologies, Ukraine. I am truly sorry, please know that I always care, love and support you. Glory to Ukraine," LP concluded.

The celebrity also added a video from her Ukrainian fans. This is a fragment of the concert recording, where the singer says "Glory to Ukraine" in Ukrainian. LP accompanied this footage with emoticons of blue and yellow hearts and praying hands.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that Ukrainian TV host Anatoliy Anatolich reacted to the singer's action. He recalled how he met LP during her performance in Kyiv. The showman suggested why the artist might have worn a hoodie with a tricolor.
