The goblin queen puzzled the guests of the evening, who wondered who was hiding behind the makeup.

It turned out that a drag queen named Princess Poppy decided to try on such an ugly image. She came to the ceremony with her colleagues from the RuPaul's Drag Race reality show, People writes.

Unlike her friends, who wore gorgeous dresses, Poppy chose an unusual look that looked more like Jabba the Hut from Star Wars.

"I wanted to do the opposite of what you're expected to do when you go to an event like this. I wanted to take decency and turn it on its head," the drag queen told Entertainment Weekly.

Princess Poppy doesn't hide the fact that this was her first Emmy ceremony, so the celebrity wanted to become a star on the red carpet. She told Birdy magazine that she shouldn't take beauty standards seriously.

It took Poppy 6 hours to create the troll look. Every inch of the celebrity's skin was painted green. Artificial warts were glued to the star's body, adding a long green dress to the picture.

After the show, the makeup removal process was not quick either - it took about two hours. "Not to mention an hour of scrolling through my Instagram feed and laughing at myself," the drag queen added.
