Imagine Dragons condemned the war at their concert: Ukrainians noticed one unpleasant nuance

Imagine Dragons condemned the war at their concert

The world-famous rock band Imagine Dragons has once again demonstrated its support for Ukrainians in the war by performing one of their songs with the Ukrainian flag raised at the concert. Although the "flag" was made of yellow and blue paper, the message on it could definitely be seen by those who enjoyed their favorite band's performance a few dozen meters from the stage. However, Ukrainians online did not take the appeal very well.

The poster read "STOP WAR" ("Stop the War"). At first, it was held in the front rows of the fan zone by visitors, but later the vocalist Dan Reynolds saw the flag and took it with him to the stage. A video of the performance was posted on Instagram by UNITED24, a fundraising platform whose ambassador is Imagine Dragons. The band works to rebuild Ukraine.

Reynolds raised the flag during the performance of the hit It's time, which was released 12 years ago. "Is this what you meant when you said you were tired? And now it's time to build everything from the beginning," the song, which is associated with the war in Ukraine, says.

Throughout the performance, the vocalist held the flag up and sometimes made a "V" sign with his hand, which means "Victory". At the end of the song, Reynolds kissed the poster, and it is unknown where he took it afterward.

Ukrainians have criticized the call "STOP WAR". They noticed a not-very-correct nuance in it.

"Stop Russia" - the poster should say "Destroy Putin" – the poster should say "Stop"? How about 'finish'?", "This is not a very good sign because it can be read in different ways: 1. Stop the war, support Ukraine, 2. Ukraine, stop the war!", "It should be 'arm Ukraine' instead of 'stop the war'," the fans said.

In particular, the artists were thanked for their solidarity with Ukraine in the comments:

  • "Thank you for inspiring people to hold on, help each other, and fight for justice."
  • "The best, thank you."
  • "For the victory in Ukraine over Putin and the aggressors, the only acceptable one."
  • "Thank you for your support."

This is not the first time Imagine Dragons have supported Ukraine. The band regularly raises the Ukrainian flag during concerts and joins in fundraising for humanitarian aid.
