Ihor Pelykh could have been 51: what is known about the three children of the TV presenter who died in an accident 16 years ago

On February 3, 2025, the famous Ukrainian TV presenter Ihor Pelykh would have turned 51. His colorful programs, such as "Galloping across Europe" and "Into Your Own Head," attracted thousands of viewers, and his style and charisma made him a favorite of the public. However, on May 8, 2009, Pelykh's life was tragically cut short in a car accident in Kyiv. He was only 35 years old.

16 years after this loss, his three children – son Ivan and daughters Solomiia and Justyna – have already grown up. OBOZ.UA decided to recall how the life of Ihor Pelykh's descendants turned out.

Ivan's son is a soldier

Ihor Pelykh's son Ivan, who was a seven-year-old boy at the time of his father's death, is now fighting in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. After Russia's full-scale invasion, he decided to put his career as a filmmaker on hold and took up arms. Today he is 23 years old and continues to defend Ukraine.

Ivan recently posted a photo with his fellow soldiers from Kursk region near the Pyaterochka store, which was painted with Ukrainian slogans. He noted that the war has changed over the years, but the trust between soldiers remains unchanged. In May 2024, Ivan received an award from Defense Minister Rustem Umerov for his service.

Solomiia inherited her love of music

Like her father, 21-year-old Solomiia has chosen to spend her life in music. In his youth, Pelykh played guitar in the band Nameless and organized the Nivroku festival. His daughter is also fond of music, and performing at chamber concerts, although she avoids publicity and does not use social media.

Justyna's youngest daughter remains out of the public eye

Justyna's youngest daughter will turn 18 in 2025. It is known that she used to study at a private school, but there are no more details about her life – the girl does not appear in public space. However, her Facebook photos show that she now lives in Poland.
