Nino Katamadze, a legend of the Georgian stage who has been performing in Russia for a long time, assured us that she had no other choice. Since she was not granted an American visa, she relied on what was "at hand."

The jazz singer said this in an exclusive interview with TSN. She also emphasized that Georgia must clearly show the world its European choice.

Nino Katamadze told us that in the early 2000s when Georgia was starting to become an independent country, there were no cultural and educational institutions there. Therefore, to develop her musical career fully, Nino Katamadze applied to the American and British embassies. However, she was not granted a visa.

"This is a painful topic and reality. My activities in Russia show that I had no choice. In a world without choice, I chose what I had at hand," the vocalist emphasized.

Over the years, Katamadze has met many Russians with whom she maintains friendly relations. "I realized there are not only bad but also good people in Russia. I still keep in touch with some of them and meet them when they come to Georgia," the singer said.

But returning to Russia is out of the question. Katamadze emphasizes that right now Georgia has a chance to open all doors.

"Thanks to Ukrainian heroes, the situation around the world has changed. And together with our Ukrainian brothers, we can open both European and American doors. Today we are at a very crucial moment. And for me, this is a very key moment. I say with all honesty, with my heart, that you need to choose those friends in whom your story will live forever and ever," the Georgian singer emphasized.
