Canadian actor Donald Sutherland dies

On Thursday, June 20, Canadian actor Donald Sutherland died in Miami (USA) after a serious illness. He was 88 years old.

This was announced by the star's son Kiefer on X (Twitter). One of the most famous performances of the actor was the role of President Coriolanus Snow in the Hunger Games franchise.

"I personally consider him one of the greatest actors in the history of cinema. He was never afraid of a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved. No one can ever ask for more," the actor's son wrote.

In 2017, Donald Sutherland received an Oscar for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography. The actor is also an Emmy (1995) and Golden Globe (1996, 2003) award winner.

During his acting career, Sutherland has appeared in more than 140 films, including Johnny Got His Gun, M*A*S*H, Fellini's Casanova, National Lampoon's Animal House, The Italian Job, Pride and Prejudice.
