"He's just incredible": Charles III's photographer reveals which Ukrainian he dreams of making a portrait of

Photographer tells about the coronation of monarchs

Royal photographer Hugo Burnand, who has been working with Charles III and Camilla for 20 years, told us how the coronation of the monarchs took place and admitted which Ukrainian he wanted to photograph. He recalled that for 4 days before the ceremony, he hardly left the Throne Room and did not sleep. This event was a responsible one for him, despite the fact that he had previously photographed important events, including the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Burnand spoke about this on the 1+1 Breakfast programme. In his speech, he mentioned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Hugo called the country's leader a hero and an icon of our time, noting that he would love to take a picture of him (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the page).

"If you asked me who I would like to photograph (Hugo Burnand addressed the journalist - ed.), I would definitely make portraits of people who, in my opinion, are heroes and icons of our time. For example, your President Zelenskyy. He's a great guy. I think he's just incredible," the celebrity said.

The royal photographer also said that the monarchs pay him for his work, but it is not an "exorbitant amount" but a decent reward. After the coronation of Charles III and Camilla on 6 May, Burnand slept all day. He emphasised that it was a pleasure to work with His Majesty, as he is "very well-mannered and intelligent".

"We were preparing for a very long time, and for the last four days we hardly left the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace at all - we were setting up equipment, setting up the light and rehearsing the photo shoot. Then we selected photos, and only then did I finally get some sleep. I slept all day," the photographer said.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL reported that First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska wore a luxurious seafoam-coloured outfit to the coronation of the monarchs. She attended the celebration with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. To find out more, follow the link.
