Have they forgotten about the war? The soundtrack to the Russian TV series "The Word of a Boy" topped the top 100 on Apple Music in Ukraine

The track "Piyala" by the Russian band Aigel is the soundtrack to the Russian TV series "The Word of a Boy. Blood on the Asphalt"

The first place in the Top 100 in Ukraine ranking on the Apple Music platform was taken by a song called "Pyyala" by the Russian band Aigel. This means that it is the song most often chosen and listened to by Ukrainian users.

What makes the situation even more absurd is the fact that this song is the soundtrack to the Russian crime series "The Word of a Boy. Blood on the Asphalt". The same one, which, unfortunately, has become popular among unaware Ukrainian viewers who promote the product from the terrorist country in their recommendations and "defend the right" to watch it.

The track "Pyyala" was at the top of the ranking of Ukrainian listeners on Apple Music, pushing Ukrainian musicians and their songs down to lower positions. First, this greatly demotivates domestic artists, who, even in the context of a terrorist war, remain less attractive to Ukrainian listeners than their "colleagues" from the aggressor country.

In addition, "Pyyala" is also in the top on Russian platforms. In particular, the song ranks first in searches on Russian Shazam. But in the global chart of the same music search application, according to propaganda media, the song took second place. It can be assumed that unknowing Ukrainians had a hand in bringing the Russian single to this top spot, and now it is being listened to not only in Russia or Ukraine, but also abroad.

Ukrainian netizens are already finding excuses for listening to "Pyyala." In particular, they hide behind the fact that the song's performers, the band Aigel, did not support the war and left Russia after the full-scale invasion.

It's worth noting that "Pyyala" (translated from Tatar as "glass") is not a new song. It was released back in 2020 on the album of the same name. However, it has only gained such popularity now that it has become the soundtrack to the "blatant" series about Russian gangs in the USSR, The Word of a Boy. Blood on the Asphalt".

It is noteworthy that the authors of the series mention in the credits even those musicians whose songs were played for only a few seconds, but there are no references to Pyiala, who is heard in each episode several times. This is probably due to the anti-war stance of the performers.

As we have already noted, The Word of a Boy is rapidly gaining popularity not only in Russia, but also, paradoxically, in Ukraine. OBOZ.UA found out why Ukrainians watch the sensational series, how it distracts from the war and incites hatred among the people.

For those who believe that there are no analogues to the Russian series among the domestic film product, OBOZ.UA has made a special selection. In it, we have collected five projects that can be watched instead of The Word of a Boy.

OBOZ.UA also wrote that the son of the main critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin starred in the series "The Word of a Boy". We are talking about the eldest son of musician Andrey Makarevich.
