Hannah Waddingham put the photographer who shouted a sexist comment in his place

The 49-year-old actress Hannah Waddingham hosted the Olivier Awards ceremony on April 14. The star impressed the audience with her trademark poise and humor, as the attention of netizens was particularly focused on an embarrassing incident.

Shortly before the event, Waddingham walked down the stairs near the Royal Albert Hall, stopping to take pictures and talk to the press, Metro writes. Suddenly, someone from the crowd shouted "show me your leg" and the celebrity's smile immediately disappeared from her face. The actress did not remain silent, reacting to the sexist comment.

"Oh my God, you would never say that to a man. Don't be stupid, I'll go further. Don't say 'show me your leg,'" she said to the photographer. The presenter then moved on, exchanging a few words with the "interlocutor".

The video of the incident has already been viewed more than a million times on the social network X (Twitter). Fans praised Waddingham in the comments, applauding her justified reaction to the awkward moment:

"I couldn't love her more! I love that she stands her ground."

"She's great, what a role model."

"The behavior of an absolute queen and a great example for young girls in the industry to know their worth."

The actress has spoken about the misogyny and double standards she has faced as a woman in the past, telling Glamour: "When it comes to fighting sexism, especially in my industry, I lived it when I was a model. I will literally kill you if you treat me like that."
