Greek Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana shocked with news of divorce after 14 years of marriage

Greek Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana are getting a divorce

The Prince and Princess of Greece, Nikolaos and Tatiana, announced the dissolution of their marriage after 14 years of marriage. The news came as a shock, as both royal representatives have always shown sincerity and love for each other on their social media.

The couple did not disclose the reason for the divorce, but it became known that they would remain friends in the future. This was announced on the official page of the Greek Royal Family.

"Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana have decided to end their marriage after fourteen years of marriage. They both express the gravity of this decision, the deep gratitude and respect they have for each other, and the love with which they have walked all these years. These same values of respect and understanding will form the basis of their relationship in the future, a relationship of deep and sincere friendship. They will continue to live and work actively in Greece, where they both feel at home. Their family will always be with them," the statement said.

Princess Tatiana is 11 years younger than 54-year-old Prince Nikolaos. In 14 years of marriage, they have not had any heirs, but in 2021, Princess Tatiana reported that she was happy to be called an aunt: "Being an aunt is one of the greatest blessings in my life. My niece and nephew bring so much joy and happiness to everyone in our family. They are wise beyond their years and one of the best teachers who constantly teach me something new."

The couple got married on August 25, 2010, at the Ayios Nikolaos Cathedral on the island of Spetses in Greece. Although the wedding was called the event of the year, it was a more or less quiet celebration, with guests including Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden, the future King Philip VI of Spain and Queen Letizia, and the future King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

The bride then wore a white tulle dress with off-the-shoulder and a shawl. Her head was adorned with an authentic tiara of Queen Anna Maria of Greece. Prince Nikolaos wore a gray tuxedo with a white shirt and blue tie.
