During the golden age of Hollywood, which lasted from the 1920s to the late 1940s, romantic relationships between people with a large age gap were the norm. Mature men could easily have affairs with young girls who were their children or even grandchildren.

1. Errol Flynn, Nora Eddington and Patrice Wymore

Errol Flynn, a Hollywood movie star of the 1930s and 1940s, said during one of his scandalous interviews, "I like old whiskey and I like young women." Now, one could accuse him of ageism, but let's talk about another nuance: these women were actually girls.

In 1943, 34-year-old Flynn was accused of raping two 17-year-old girls. He was eventually acquitted. During the trial, the actor did not waste any time. He flirted with one of the audience members, 18-year-old actress Nora Eddington. Then they began an affair, and the couple got married. In 1949, they divorced, and six months later Errol legalized his marriage to another woman, 23-year-old actress Patrice Wymore. They lived together for 10 years.

2. Frank Sinatra, Mia Farrow, and Barbara Marks

The American actor and singer Frank Sinatra was married four times. His first wife, singer Nancy Barbato, was 2 years older. His second wife, actress Ava Gardner, was 7 years older. The fourth, actress and screenwriter Barbara Marks, was 12 years younger. "The most shocking figure was left for dessert. 3. Carlo Ponti and Sophia Loren

They fell in love with each other. The age difference did not become an obstacle: he was 45 years old and she was 20. The couple quickly got married and lived in harmony for 12 years. Their happiness could have lasted longer, but Humphrey passed away. He was unable to overcome cancer.

5. Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli

The American actress and singer Judy Garland once married composer David Rose, who was 12 years older than her, until she was 21. And after the divorce in 1945, she was not bored for long. Within a week, she married her lover, 42-year-old director Vincente Minnelli, with whom she gave birth to a daughter, Liza.
