For the first time in 8 years, Italy will be represented by a woman at Eurovision 2024: Angelina Mango has already beaten Ukrainians in the Eurofans' rating

The winner of the 74th Italian Festival in San Remo is 22-year-old Angelina Mango with her song "La noia". Traditionally, the first place winner of the festival will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest.

This year was no exception: at a press conference after the super final in San Remo, Mango agreed to participate in Eurovision 2024. This was reported by Eurovision World. However, as of February 11, the Italian has not yet signed an official agreement.

On the stage of the traditional Italian festival, the singer performed the song "La noia", which translates as "boredom". The scores are given according to the televoting of the audience and the TV and radio jury.

According to the results, Angelina Mango received the highest percentage - 40%, although European fans gave her only 16%.

At a press conference, the artist officially confirmed her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 to be held in Malmö, Sweden. Interestingly, in the last 8 years, she will be the first woman to represent Italy at the song contest.

Eurofans are delighted with Mango

Shortly after her victory, Angelina topped the Eurovision 2024 fan rating in the My Eurovision Scoreboard app, overtaking the Ukrainians. The duo of alyona alona and Jerry Heil are in second place with a difference of almost 2 thousand points with Mango.

Meanwhile, bookmakers still put Ukraine in first place with a 19% chance of winning. Italy rounds out the top three, with a 7% chance of Angelina winning.

Angelina Mango, 22, is an Italian singer-songwriter from Maratea, Basilicata, Italy. She grew up surrounded by music since childhood, as her parents were musicians.

Growing up, she learned to play guitar, piano and, of course, sing. When she moved to Milan after her father's death, she decided to continue her studies and also form a band with her brother: she sang and he played the drums.

As for her career, Mango has been active in the music industry since 2020. The years 2022 and 2023 were very successful for her. She signed a contract with Sony Music and began working with producers.
