Eurovision 2024 star, who called Russians occupiers, suddenly changed her position
Singer Nutsa Buzaladze, who represented Georgia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, got caught up in a pro-Russian scandal. The vocalist took part in a festival in Azerbaijan, where Russian artists and traitors to Ukraine performed, and the events were covered, in particular, by the Russian media.
The music festival in Baku was organized by pro-Putin oligarch Emin Agalarov. Nutsa shared a post from Dream Music Fest 2024 on Instagram.
"Thank you to Baku and Emin for making this possible. Dream Fest has become a real dream come true for us! Amazing people and unforgettable memories. Can't wait to see you all again. Much love," the Eurovision star wrote.
She performed on the same stage as Russians and traitors to Ukraine. Among them: Ani Lorak, Klava Koka, Lyusya Chebotina, Joni, Regina Todorenko, etc. It is noteworthy that the winner of Eurovision 2012 and 2023, Loreen, refused to participate when she learned about the organizer's ties to Russia.
At the same time, Nutsa, who had vowed not to work for the Russian market, went to the festival without remorse.
"Russia is not a market where I would like to continue my career now or in the future. Despite numerous offers, all projects or corporate offers were rejected. This is my absolutely deliberate decision. My songs are not for Russia, and not for Russians. Moreover, I am invited to a charity concert in Ukraine. It is at this concert that I will once again express my opinion: Russia is an occupier! I say it everywhere," the artist wrote, explaining her visit to Russia for a private event in 2023.
She expressed such a clear position before the contest in Malmö, Sweden, when Georgians and Ukrainians began to criticize the artist for traveling to Russia. In the final, the singer took 21st place, and Ukrainians did not give Nutsa a single point.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that the Swedish singer Bosson also appeared at the scandalous festival, who sang greetings to the Russians and sang for them.
