ENLEO, the singer who got into a scandal over Russian music, made a loud statement about the National Selection for Eurovision 2025

ENLEO (real name: Mykyta Leontyev), a 21-year-old singer from Mariupol and participant in the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, reacted to not being shortlisted. The performer, who recently found himself at the center of a scandal over auditioning for Russian stars on official music platforms.

According to ENLEO, his performance at the auditions was strong, and he did not go further because of public dissonance. The singer spoke about this in the studio of the Weekend show on M1. "Of course, all the scandals that were going on around me had a hundred percent impact on my psychological state, because I had never experienced anything like that. And what I experienced then, I don't want to experience again. But I am responsible for it," the artist explained.

All this time, the star admits, he tried to be "soft" because he had never made headlines or made loud statements before. When the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 season began, there was a lot of competition, and the audience's attention was focused on the participants, he adds.

According to ENLEO, he outdid himself at the auditions. "Tina Karol praised my performance and vocals very much. I was surprised by that. In an interview later, she said that I had one of the best performances. But then again, why didn't I make the shortlist? It's a difficult question. Of course, it was because of the scandals. I'm sure of it," the singer said. The celebrity hopes for the support of Eurofans, as it is the voting that will select the 10th contestant of the National Selection 2025.

As a reminder, in December 2024, the singer admitted to the Ukrainian TikTok bloggerthat he listens to Russian songs, including tracks by rapper Oxxxymiron, LSP, Markul, and others. The artist then assured him that he sometimes turns on Russian music to feel nostalgic.

Later, Tina Karol, the music producer of the National Selection 2025, commented on the scandal involving ENLEO. At the time, the star noted that the participant did not violate the rules of the show. "He didn't actually break the rules. In terms of morality, it seems so. But Oxxxymiron, as far as I remember, is a foreign agent," she said, "It's up to the organizing committee to decide. Guilty or not guilty is another story. To be honest, ENLEO is one of those who performed very well at the audition."
