Famous British actor Eddie Redmayne and popular British singer Sam Smith impressed the audience with androgynous looks at the Met Gala 2024. Thus, the Oscar and Tony Award winner attanded the most important fashion show of the year with his wife Hannah Bagshawe in black and white dresses. The Grammy winner and his boyfriend Christian Cowan wore identical suits with metal rose studs.

The celebrities stood out from the crowd the minute they arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday. Both couples combined masculine and feminine features (androgyny) in their looks, the Daily Mail reports.

Eddie wore a black jacket with a white mesh skirt with transparent cut-out inserts and a wavy ink stain pattern. The actor also wore black shoes.

Hannah complemented her husband with a strapless dress with the same pattern and a corset bodice, emphasizing her tiny waist.

Sam Smith and Christian Cowan are known for their viral clothing and are not afraid to push the boundaries when it comes to fashion. But this time, as opposed to their usual avant-garde looks with outlandish shapes, they chose a more mellow one: a simple black blazer and matching pants. A white collared shirt and a blue satin tie were added to the look, as well as an androgynous element in the form of a transparent skirt. Fashion designer Christian wore the same outfit but white and with a brown silk tie.

The couple completed their sophisticated look with metal roses pinned to their jackets. Sam's was silver and Christian's was gold.

Later, they explained that their outfits were inspired by the 1940s, and the roses were a reference to a gift Christian gave Sam at the beginning of their relationship.
