"Don't care about Ukraine and tragedies": Ukrainian singer in Europe complains about his state of mind and says he pretends to be a volunteer

Ivan Zbaraski outraged Ukrainians with a letter about indifference to the war

Ivan Zbaraski, a singer and sound producer from the Ternopil region, surprised his fans with the controversial thoughts he put down on paper. The musician published a text in which he admitted that he was "tired" of many things, and also stated that he did not care about the war and tragedies in Ukraine.

This public reflection did not go down well with commentators, who reminded the artist, who has been in the Netherlands since the start of the full-scale invasion, that he was not the one to complain about war fatigue. The post appeared on the singer's Instagram (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"I'm tired... of being inspired by people's stories, not knowing why and for what, if I'm a coward and afraid to die for Ukraine, afraid to die for anyone. My songs are mostly about my life and what a cool, stylish, vibe lover I am. I don't care about Ukraine. I sit here and pretend that I'm doing something, that I'm volunteering and it's good. I don't care about Kakhovka and the tragedies that happen every day. I connected the collection to the song because it's the right thing to do. I don't know what purpose I pursue when I write songs about myself and the war," the lyrics say.

Obviously, the artist decided to share his thoughts and complain about his state of mind. Some Ukrainians found it outrageous that a musician in Europe would allow himself to express himself in such a way while his compatriots were fighting for independence and losing their loved ones every day.

"Don't care about Ukraine, Kakhovka, tragedies? I'm sorry, but you can choose your words. Aren't the military tired? Exactly. Very unempathetic", "Not to levy is okay, to sh*t out such nonsense in public space while sitting in Europe is not okay. This is not frankness, this is insignificance," "Renounce your citizenship if you don't care about Ukraine," the comments read.

This statement seems particularly cynical, given that the musician recently released a track dedicated to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. It is now clear that the tragedy did not really affect the songwriter.

"This is my attempt to convey the emotional spectrum that arose after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station: denial, despair, fear, anger," Zbaraski wrote, and a week later he said that he did not care about Kakhovka.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that Russian comedian Daniil Poperechny made a terrible joke about the city of Izium, where Ukrainians were killed and tortured. After a wave of hate, he explained his comment.
