Did Queen Letizia have an affair with her son-in-law? A high-profile scandal has erupted in Spain, with "selfie proof" hitting the media

Queen of Spain Letizia was accused of having an affair with her son-in-law

A loud scandal has erupted around Queen Letizia of Spain. Her sister's ex-husband, businessman Jaime Del Burgo, claims to have had an affair with the royal.

This was reported by the Daily Mail. As proof of his words, Jaime posted a selfie of the Queen on the X platform, which she allegedly sent him along with a love message. After a flurry of criticism, the author deleted his account on the social network.

Jaime Del Burgo, 53, who currently lives in the UK, recently contributed to a book about the Spanish royal family. In the pages he makes a scandalous statement: Del Burgo and Letizia were still romantically involved after the Queen's wedding to Philip in 2004.

To prove it, Jaime shared an undated selfie that the 51-year-old queen took in her bathroom mirror. In the photo, the pregnant queen smiles at the camera, with a dark pashmina around her neck, which Del Burgo says belonged to him.

The man said the photo was accompanied by a message: "Darling. I am wearing your pashmina. I feel like I can feel you near me. I'm counting the hours until we see each other again."

After the image was published, network users questioned the authenticity of the scandalous statement. As a result, the Spaniard deleted his account.

In the book Letizia and Me, journalist Jaime Peñafiela talks about the secrets of the Spanish royal family. Del Burgo did not stand aside: he said that Letizia was his great love, despite the fact that the Spaniard married her sister Thelma Ortiz in 2012.

The businessman told the author that he met Letizia in the early 2000s. Their relationship began during a romantic trip to Venice, a few years before she met King Philip.
