Crazy Town lead singer and author of the hit Butterfly dies: body of 49-year-old Seth Binzer found in his home

Seth Binzer, lead singer of Crazy Town and author of the hit song Butterfly, has died

The founder and lead singer of the rock band Crazy Town, Seth Binzer, better known by his pseudonym Shifty Shellshock, died on June 24 at the age of 49. The author of the hit song Butterfly did not live 2 months before his birthday. His body was found in his home in Los Angeles, USA.

Law enforcement agencies have not provided details of the death. The website for searching for a personal medical file states that investigator Lianna Darabedian is looking into the incident. The artist is survived by three sons.

Although the cause of death is unknown, Binzer had previously sold and used drugs for several years. At the time, he was trying to fight his addiction. In February 2012, he was arrested by law enforcement for cocaine possession and later sentenced to three years' probation.

The constant use of drugs alternated with attempts to overcome the addiction. Sometimes the singer even succeeded, but this "liberation" did not last long.

In the music industry, Seth Binzer became famous in the early 2000s with the band Crazy Town thanks to the hit song Butterfly. At the time, the song was number one on music charts around the world and even on the Billboard Hot 100, the charts of the best songs in the United States. Currently, the track has over 420 million streams on Spotify, which is significantly higher than the results of all the band's other works.

Crazy Town, similar to Binzer's history with drug addiction, has been breaking up and reuniting. In 2002, its members stopped releasing new songs, but 5 years later, the band reformed again and even released their third album, The Brimstone Sluggers, in 2015, but it did not gain much success.
