But Chinese woman You Jianxia broke the system and entered the Guinness Book of Records as the owner of the world's longest eyelashes, 20.5 cm long as of 2021. She calls her feature a "gift from Buddha."

The woman claims to Guinness World Records that her eyelashes began to grow actively in 2015 after spending more than 480 days in the mountains for many years before. In her opinion, this anomaly is a "gift from Buddha," as she has not found a scientific or genetic explanation.

Interestingly, the length of her eyelashes does not affect her daily life, but rather helps her to save money on unnecessary cosmetics. "Thanks to my naturally long eyelashes, I don't need to wear eye shadow or eyeliner. My natural eyelashes act as a long eyeliner. Since they are natural, it is easy for me to wash my face and go about my daily life. They fall out and grow back," she explained.

In 2016, You Jianxia was included in the Guinness Book of World Records with the same nomination, but at that time her eyelashes were 12.4 cm long. In five years, they grew by 8.1 cm. Now they are so long that she tucks them behind her ear.

She believes that this feature gives her incredible strength. "There may be a connection between my long eyelashes and my strong body. I'm healthy now, but when I was born I was relatively weak. Now I feel pretty good, and many people think I look younger," she said.
