Among the participants of the show "Zvazheni ta Schaslyvi" (Ukrainian version of "The Biggest Loser"), Ruslana Pysanka left the spotlight in the fourth place

In September 2011, the STB TV channel aired the first season of the popular project "Zvazheni ta Schaslyvi," where overweight individuals attempted to shed as many extra pounds as possible under the watchful eye of trainers. The winner, eligible for the cash prize, was the contestant who lost the highest percentage of weight from their initial measurement on the scales. The post-project fates of the participants remain relatively unknown: some successfully maintained their new shape, while others experienced setbacks, each with their own unique story. However, news of the deaths of the reality show's "graduates" has always been impactful and widely reported.

It is inappropriate to attribute the deterioration of the health of the participants of "Zvazheni ta Schaslyvi" solely to intense exercise and severe emotional stress; only doctors can draw conclusions in this regard. In the meantime, let's take a moment to remember those project participants who are no longer with us.

Ilya Yakovlev

A participant of the third season of "Zvazheni ta Schaslyvi," passed away in May 2015 due to a stroke at the age of 32. He entered the project weighing 147 kilograms. Viewers remembered his participation not only for his battle against unwanted pounds but also for his love story. Ilya met his love, Natalia Moskalenko, during filming. The couple got married in the summer of 2014, and sadly, a year later, Ilya passed away.

As you know, Yakovlev lost 48 kilograms on the project.

Ihor Pashynskyi

In November 2015, Ukrainians were shocked to learn about the passing of another former contestant of "The Weighted and the Happy," Ihor Pashynskyi, at the age of 52. He was remembered by viewers as the heaviest contestant of the fifth season. During his time on the show, Pashynskyi successfully lost 51 kg in four months.

According to his wife, the cause of death for the "Zvazheni ta Shchaslivi" contestant was the misdiagnosis of Pashynskyi. He eventually passed away due to a massive heart attack.

"The autopsy revealed that he was initially misdiagnosed, and the treatment was incorrectly prescribed. They administered drips to stop peptic ulcer bleeding, and a significant amount of them, which was not permissible... This amounts to negligence. A person's heart stops, and there is no one around. No one! There is no attending physician! It's very difficult to recall," mentioned Ihor's wife.

Yevheniia Mostovenko

On January 26, 2017, four days after her 44th birthday, Yevheniia Mostovenko, a participant of the third season of "Zvazheni ta Shchastlivi" (The Weighty and the Happy), passed away. As you mentioned, she joined the project with her daughter. During the first weigh-in, Yevheniia's weight was recorded at 130 kilograms. Over the course of 9 months, she successfully reduced this figure to 94 kilograms. Despite this achievement, the Ukrainian woman expressed her intention to continue losing weight.

The cause of death of 44-year-old Mostovenko is identified as a cerebral hemorrhage.

Ruslana Pysanka

In the seventh season, a notable participant joined the project - the renowned TV presenter and actress Ruslana Pysanka. She participated in the show alongside her husband, Igor Isakov. At the start of filming for "Zvazheni ta Shchastlivi," she had a weight of 136 kilograms, and by the final episode, her weight was 94 kilograms. In other words, the star successfully lost 42 kg during the show.

The news of the death of the prominent Ruslana Pysanka shocked Ukrainians on July 19, 2022. The heart of the favorite of millions stopped beating in Germany, where she battled cancer, which progressed very rapidly. The star kept her illness private, revealing it only to her husband, who remained by her side until the end. Regarding speculations linking her death to her participation in "Zvazheni i Shchaslyvi," he responded, "You know, only God knows what could have influenced all this. As challenging as it was, it made us much healthier. After all, we are minus one person, 80 kilograms between the two of us. Like some kind of medicine - if in small doses, it is medicine, if in large doses, it is poison. There was some poison, but 90 percent of it was positive."

Ruslana Pysanka was only 56 years old. Her death was a great loss for the entire Ukrainian people.
